New designs and a new post! I am excited to share My Mom's Junk new look with you in my latest post!!! It's been quiet on the blog but behind the scenes, it has been a whirlwind of activity. If you were wondering how I came up with the name of my blog “My Mom’s Junk”… here is the explanation! The expression “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure,” takes on a whole new meaning in our family. I am the daughter of a hoarder and this blog is devoted to how, along with my family we are reforming one piece of my mother’s “junk” at a time. (I say junk because the condition of most items made almost everything unusable.)
After a series of unfortunate events our mothers home was about to be repossessed by the bank. With time not on our sides…countless hours were spent rummaging through the debris of 20 plus years to salvage anything we deemed worthy of removal. Right at the witching hour a mere day before the bank was to take possession of the house….a miracle happened and the bank refinanced our mother’s home!! The good news was bitter-sweet as we all questioned… “Now what do we do??!!” We have ransacked and relocated all of our mother’s “junk” between our homes until we figured out what to do with it all. After much deliberation, it was agreed we were given this opportunity to help our mother heal from her illness and give her a fresh start on life. The plan: empty her home of all remaining debris, and redo every piece of furniture and help her sell her home. This blog will be a step-by-step of our journey; we hope it inspires you to “clear out your closets”, get organized and rethink/repurpose your “junk”! Thanks for stopping by!
