New designs and a new post! I am excited to share My Mom's Junk new look with you in my latest post!!! It's been quiet on the blog but behind the scenes, it has been a whirlwind of activity. It seems like if I'm blogging about something, I don't have time to get the project done. For my sanity, that's just not an option anymore. My boy’s room is worse than a train wreck. When Willow’s Speech Language Pathologist came to the house yesterday, she brought her two girls. I told them they couldn’t go in the room because it was quarantined: they could get the swine flu. Because my boys are pigs. Seriously. They have Pokemon plush and cards, Legos, video games, books, treasures, and trinkets galore in that room. They are breeding and taking over. Dare I say that there is something in this house more prolific than me? I digress.
I’ve put in place a simple strategy of purge, paint, then decorate. Unfortunately, I keep getting tripped up on the purging, because every time I go in there I want to curl up in the fetal position. (Find a happy place… find a happy place… find a happy place.) It’s going to be a job but I know it will be so worth it. Thankfully, we have most of the stuff to decorate the room already. If we can just get it painted (which will be tedious), it will literally look like a new room. I created an Inspiration Board on PicMonkey with their collage tool to help keep me motivated. It really helps when have a vision for a space. I would highly recommend it. PicMonkey is a free program that is user-friendly to edit photos. It has changed my life. It used to take me hours to edit photos for my blog. I first learned about it from my blog consultation with KariAnne Wood. It’s a simple tool and I use it now for almost every blog post. It can be used for Facebook, Pinterest, or to personalize and photo. KariAnne shared this post from In The Afternoon. It was also very helpful. The hardest part was taking the 1000 pins I had accumulated on Pinterest and narrowing it down for the project!
